There's just nothing better then sinking away for two hours in a theater at the end of a long workweek with a really good popcorn movie. You can just sit back and relax and let all of the day's worries seep out into the chairs around you.
NOBODY is comics equivalent of the smart popcorn movie. It's a supernatural thriller about a paranormal investigator who can quite literally change her face to help her solve crimes. She battles satanic cults and hunts down serial killers and has just enough time to do some self-reflection. She's quite literally a nobody. A woman with no past and no identity. The perfect undercover agent.
NOBODY has a tight pace, plenty of action, and the well-timed plot twist. It's also bathing in a beautifully rendered noir atmosphere, courtesy of Charlie Adlard of White Death and Astronauts in Trouble fame. Tie that together with a likeable protagonist (there can never be enough female protagonists in comics), and you've got all the requirements of a classic popcorn movie.
I bet Greg Rucka likes popcorn movies, too. He wrote the introduction.
