GTO vol. 2

Credits: Written and Illustrated by Toru Fujisawa
Publisher: TokyoPop

And now we continue the chronicles of Eikichi Onizuka on his journey to become the Greatest High School Teacher Ever. Onizuka, former bike gang member, martial arts champion, and porn addict, has developed a taste for teaching, but enthusiasm alone isn't enough. Now that his training period is over - with his having helped a problem student's alienation from her parents with the use of a sledgehammer - Onizuka has to go out into the wide world of interviews for a teaching post. However, he finds that he hasn't got the right certification yet, and the dirty old man he beat up on the subway for molesting a woman is the vice principal of the only high school that might offer him a job. Who now hates his guts.

All those obstacles, the point of despair... what's a guy to do?

But wait! Hope comes in unexpected places, and Onizuka is offered a lifeline to the job of his dreams, but will he agree to the unusual conditions he has to keep it? And what's up with the depressed students who keep trying to jump off the roof anyway?

Who would've thought being a teacher would be an Indiana Jones-type adventure, with hair-trigger violence, martial arts, daring escapes and massive property damage? Who would've thought that a comic about a high school teacher could be so insanely fun?
