Beginners: A FOREGONE TOMORROW is the fourth collection of Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso's noir series 100 BULLETS. If you haven't read the first three, do so now.
Go ahead. Skeedaddle. We'll be here when you get back.
...
Okay, everybody else has read one through three, right? Excellent. Then really, I don't even need to pitch this book, because if you've read the first three, you're hooked. Allow me to taunt and tease you mercilessly as you wait for your copy to arrive: in these 262 pages we learn what The Trust is and how it's structured, meet Megan Dietrich's fair-haired weakness, follow Dizzy and Shepherd on a hunt for Minutemen, take a Branch-guided tour through The Trust family tree and find out who shot Kennedy. Well. Who might've shot Kennedy.
Northwestern University Professor Bill Savage is such a fan of the series that he suggests in his formidable introduction that 100 BULLETS might actually "finish off" America's cultural bias against the comic book as a legitimate art form. Doc Savage [I know; I'm sorry] has more faith in the American public than your humble servant here, but yeah, it's that good.
Oh, and Mark Chiarello makes one of a number of notable guest appearances with a full-page devoted to Cole Burns. Hubba.
