Stray Bullets: Somewhere Out West (vol. 2)

Credits: Written and Illustrated by David Lapham
Publisher: El Capitan

Commentary

Put four kids in one trailer somewhere out west with too many drugs and too much heat creeping up from out of their past for long enough and all kinds of shit will hit all kinds of fan.

Nina, Beth, Orson, and little Virginia have hightailed it out of Baltimore and into the sleepy desert town of... err... Seaside. Sex-crazy and drug-crazy and plain old crazy-crazy, being cooped up in a berg that small has already started to take its toll when SOMEWHERE OUT WEST begins. And by the time it's done, everyone from a five-legged cow to a bohunk sheriff-wannabe to several of our recurring cast of characters will all be taking the long dirt nap.

Malicious as all hell, SOMEWHERE OUT WEST strikes a different note entirely from the first STRAY BULLETS volume; rather than flutter around a timeline, Lapham zeroes in on a few weeks in one singular place, and watches as his cast of stray bullets tear their own lives apart. Brutal, uproarious, and unforgiving.
