Escapo is in the Water-Womb. The Carny Barker screams descriptions, in horrid pulp detail, of the trials and tribulations Escapo endures within. The crowd is riled to a frothing fever pitch. The steel belly of the Water-Womb is filling up and Escapo is in chains. Escapo is in chains and a straightjacket inside the Water-Womb. The chains are pulling him down by his neck. The air in his lungs is running out.

Escapo is in love with Aerobella, the beautiful trapeze artist. She's standing outside of the Water-Womb, watching and waiting, watching and waiting. She knows Escapo is taking too long. Aerobella watches and waits with the Acrobat King. Escapo is inside the Water-Womb and Aerobella watches and stands next to the Acrobat King.

Last night, Escapo and Aerobella talked. A white scarf meant yes and a black one meant no. Tonight, Aerobella's not wearing a scarf at all. She's not wearing a scarf at all and she's standing next to the Acrobat King. They're watching Escapo, inside the Water-Womb. They're watching Escapo take too long.

Escapo is inside the Water-Womb and his air is running out.
