So, what's ARTBOMB all about?
ARTBOMB is about broadening the appeal of diverse comic books and graphic novels. We hope to demonstrate that comics can offer an entertainment value that many people currently enjoy in film or television or prose. This a storytelling medium that has a lot of dynamic voices with mainstream and adult appeal. It's our mission to help promote their works to new audiences.
Who's all involved in ARTBOMB?
ARTBOMB was the brainchild of acclaimed writer, Warren Ellis, and Internet producer, Peter Siegel. It very may have well come about over drunken conversation, but it seemed like a good idea at the time and we haven't turned back since. Through bribery and blackmail, we were able to convince a number of talented and, obviously, crazy people to join our rag-tag army, including writers Kelly Sue DeConnick and Matt Fraction, and designers Brian Wood and Neil Katz. (Thanks, guys! - P.)
How do you decide which books to review for ARTBOMB?
ARTBOMB is not a typical review site. We only list books that we think are the best the industry has to offer in a wide range of genres. Books are selected solely on their merits as determined by our review staff. That said, there are literally dozens of great books we haven't gotten around to. This is primarily because we want to be able to roll in fresh content on a regular basis. And we can also be very lazy.
If I'm a publisher, how do I submit books to ARTBOMB?
To find out how to reach us, visit our Contact Us page at the above link. While we cannot guarantee a listing in our directory, we will read everything sent to us.
Do you accept reviews from outside of ARTBOMB?
We are currently not accepting submissions for reviews at this time.
Do you review illustrated prose books?
No. Just comic books and graphic novels. We do not cover prose, whether it is illustrated or not, nor works in other mediums such as film or television.
Where can I buy graphic novels?
To find a comic book retailer near you, check out The Master List. More and more, graphic novels are popping up in places like bookstores and record stores as well. Additionally, we provide an online purchase link for each book reviewed on our site in the event that this is more convenient for you. At the end of the day, our primary mission is to make sure you can actually find the books that interest you.
Do you review online graphic novels?
Currently, we do not. However, a lot of cutting edge work by both new and established creators is being produced online and we hope to address it in the near future.
Can I quote your reviews for promotional purposes?
Yes. You can quote our reviews for promotional purposes. All other uses is prohibited without express authorization from us. If you do quote a review for promotional purposes, we ask that you credit the site, ARTBOMB.NET, and the reviewer's name where applicable.
