Biography Colleen Doran has been getting paid to draw pictures since the ripe-old age of fifteen. After a short stint in advertising, she moved on to cartoon strips and comic books and has written and or illustrated in excess of 400 of them including "Wonder Woman", "Sandman", "Clive Barker's Hellraiser", "Walt Disney's Beauty and the Beast" and her own series "A Distant Soil" which she created, writes and draws for Image Comics. Currently, she is illustrating an upcoming graphic novel for DC/Vertigo called "Orbiter". Like "Superidol", it is also written by Warren Ellis. Doran has received a number of awards and honors including a grant from the Delphi Institute to study American Popular Culture. She was also chosen to be an American representative to attend the US/Japanese manga seminar in Tokyo, Japan. She's never won an Eisner though. What a shame.
